Chromebook stuck in "Portrait Mode"

The Android version of the game on Chromebook does not switch from Portrait Mode even when the toggle in the settings menu is used. I took screenshots and I'll post them if I'm able to once this topic is started.
The Discord history shows lots of people with this issue but no solutions.
