IsaiahExperienced this as well. My necromancer and plague doctor villages remained the exact same population over close to a hundred years, with the only change coming from when a random red mage teleported into the necromancer village and killed one of them

ArgenteaMoonIt's worth noting that necromancers and plague doctors have a default birth rate of zero, but even when gene edited to have a higher birth rate, they don't reproduce. So it's definitely the trait that's not working, not the lack of birth rate.

sasiloxrSpore reproduction requires them to be well fed, otherwise they will not reproduce
Unfortunately the Necromancer and Plague Doctor subspecies don't need to eat unless you give them a stomach trait.
So if you leave them there without modifying them, they won't be able to reproduce and will eventually die. -

ArgenteaMoonSo I've done some testing. Spore repro isn't 100% broken. so far I have discovered:
- plague doctors will not reproduce with spore repro whether they have a stomach and diet or not, and regardless of if they're sentient. even with the minimum lifespan I could give them (just in case that had any effect on birth rate)
- plague doctors are able to reproduce if given ordinary sexual reproduction
- nonsapients (eg regular chickens) will reproduce if given spore repro
- sapients (eg humans) will reproduce if given spore repro
- uplifted sapients (both from the monolith and uplifted manually) will reproduce with spore repro. But it seems like manually uplifted species take longer to start?
Additionally,
- spore repro turns off viviparity, but not oviparity. Even with viviparity turned off, species that are able to reproduce with spores will still produce offspring. Oviparity seems to work normally with spore repro, when it works
- plague doctors don't seem to have a child form at all -
