severe population decline
humans reproducing is slow to the point where deaths take over births which causes kingdoms and villages to collapse. Spawning in humans manually is the only way to keep the kingdom alive and give a short boost to the population growth until it eventually declines again.
its impossible for me to keep a kingdom alive without manually growing the population now because of the 0.50 update. i even tried turning on no dying of old age and putting gestation to short in the species editor but it still declines.

i had the same problem to when i first started but i realized its just because humans base genes are really bad, you just got to tweak some o f the races to a point they can survive, since the humans were having such a hard time staying alive i up the birth rate and offsping a lil more than what it was. -

MdnghtEtherThis might be caused by changes to the hunger mechanic. Essentially all the villages I made that started to die off were completely out of food and a large portion of the population was starving. Starving villagers means less babies and less food, which means even fewer villagers. Towns are able to grow unsustainably large due to them being able to store massive amounts of food at a time, which takes a while to be depleted. This is honestly my best guess, so maybe take it with a grain of salt.

MdnghtEtherOop Idk if this is also referring to issues with small villages, which have trouble getting started due to the low birth rate. Also the predators. Like wtf, I once had a village of 200+ population wiped out in a few days due to a pack of hungry foxes. Forget that, it only takes a chance encounter with a small fox pack to wipe a new village off the map.

DarklingFoxI had this problem as well after testing some ofcreatures, I found the most success at growing kingdoms (without editing) were with slimes and dwarfs reaching 100 population before shrinking, and the worst at growing was the angels witch took a while for a single baby (even at 40 times speed) if my memory is correct it was over in game 100 years.
